A running log, newest first, of what changed for homeowners and the pros in the directory. Dates are the month each update shipped. 40 updates so far.
- SkyVision for iPhone — submitted to the App Store — Milestone, August 2026. Our native iPhone app went to Apple for review after weeks of pre-release field testing. Everything from the platform — the live map, the new alert experience, storm reports — plus instant push notifications that open straight onto the alert for your home.
- Our first real tornado warning — on a member's phone in 5 seconds — Milestone, August 2026. During a severe storm outbreak near Chicago, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning covering a member's home — and SkyVision delivered it to their phone about five seconds later, with a live arrival estimate ("storm is roughly 3 minutes away") and shelter instructions. When the warning moved past their home, they got the all-clear too. This is exactly what we built the system to do.
- Tornado Warnings for your exact address — free for every home — New, August 2026. SkyVision now delivers official National Weather Service tornado warnings matched to your exact address — not your county, your address. If the warning polygon covers your home you're alerted as soon as we receive the warning (typically seconds), escalations such as a Particularly Dangerous Situation re-alert you, and you get a clear message when the warning expires or is cancelled. Included free for every homeowner, no plan required.
- The new alert experience: Watch → Threat → Impact → All Clear — New, August 2026. Alerts now walk you through a storm the way it actually unfolds. A quiet heads-up when you're in a hail watch area. A full-screen threat alert when hail is detected in a storm headed for your home — with a real time-to-impact window and a what-to-do checklist. A SkyVision-assessed impact alert with the estimated hail size at your property and what to do next. And a clear "storm has passed" message when the threat window closes. In this week's storms, members received their threat alert more than 25 minutes before hail reached their home.
- Push notifications for every alert — New, August 2026. Tornado warnings, hail watches, threats, and impact assessments now arrive as push notifications on the app — each one opens directly onto the live alert for your home, and unread alerts badge the app icon.
- Alert history on your Activity feed — New, August 2026. Every alert your home has received — watches, threats, impacts, tornado warnings and storm-passed messages — now lives in a full timeline on your Activity tab, including when each message was sent and delivered.
- Alerts in seconds, not minutes — Improved, August 2026. We rebuilt the alert delivery pipeline end to end. Hail alerts that used to take the better part of a minute now go from detection to your phone in under ten seconds, tornado warnings in about five — with automatic retries and around-the-clock monitoring so an alert can never fail silently.
- Mission Control — the new mobile home screen — Improved, August 2026. The mobile dashboard was redesigned around one idea: open the app, know your home's status instantly. A live status card for your home, current conditions, and the storm map one tap away — with a live storm banner over the map whenever weather is active.
- Coast-to-coast monitoring — Milestone, July 2026. SkyVision's hail intelligence now covers every monitored property nationwide. Wherever your home or portfolio is, the same engine watches it — detection, threat tracking, and impact assessment, all fifty states.
- Household members & alert recipients — New, July 2026. Protection is for the whole household now. Invite your family to your account and add the people you care about as alert recipients — everyone you choose gets the same life-safety alerts for your home, the moment you do.
- Live weather for your exact address — New, July 2026. Your dashboard now opens with real-time conditions and the day's forecast for your actual property — not the nearest city. Temperature, wind, and what's coming, refreshed continuously.
- Find a Pro — local contractors in the directory — New, July 2026. When a storm does find your home, the next step is built in: browse local contractors in the directory — with the information they've shared, such as licensing and insurance where provided — and request an inspection without leaving SkyVision. A listing is not an endorsement.
- Public storm reports & county hail history — New, July 2026. Shareable storm report pages for recent events and county-level hail history, so you can see what actually hit your area — and share it — without an account.
- Live Hail Layer — near-real-time impacts — New, June 2026. Our new Live Hail Layer streams hail data straight from the weather service every two minutes and cross-references it against the properties you monitor on the fly. Impacts appear on the map within minutes of hail reaching a property, and the layer loads quickly.
- 24-Hour Accumulation Layer — New, June 2026. A new 24-hour Accumulation Layer shows where hail has built up over the past day at a glance, so you can see which areas took the most punishment. Like the live layer, it loads quickly.
- Smarter impact estimates with confidence scoring — Improved, June 2026. Estimated impacts now include a confidence score and additional weighted intelligence to help you verify and pinpoint real hail-affected areas in real time — so you can act on the strongest leads first instead of guessing.
- Major map performance overhaul — Improved, June 2026. We spent the day rebuilding how the map loads and refreshes. Radar and hail layers now stream in staged, so the map is usable almost immediately instead of waiting on everything at once — and only the data you actually need is loaded. Panning, zooming, and refreshing are dramatically smoother. The map is ready the moment you open it.
- Fixed slow and stalled map layers — Fixed, June 2026. We tracked down and squashed a bug that could leave radar and hail layers loading for 20+ seconds — or not appearing at all until you refreshed the page. Layers now show up reliably on the first load, every time.
- Hail Impact alerts (beta) — New, June 2026. Now in beta testing: property-specific, real-time hail alerts for both incoming threats and confirmed impacts. No more waiting on maps to find out where damage landed — you're alerted the moment hail threatens or hits a property you monitor.
- Always-on platform monitoring — Improved, June 2026. We now continuously monitor the front and back ends of the platform with real-time error tracking, so we catch and fix bugs as they happen — keeping your dashboard fast and dependable.
- Live Storm Mode upgrades — Improved, June 2026. Property pins now recolor in real time as threats change during a storm, backed by a more reliable live connection.
- Company management — Improved, June 2026. Add and edit companies right from the dashboard with address autocomplete, plus richer company cards.
- Faster homepage — Improved, June 2026. We rebuilt the homepage to load about twice as fast on phones and stay responsive the moment it appears.
